About Chalet Les Brévins ...
Relax in the hot tub and enjoy the breathtaking views at this sumptuous five-star ski chalet near the charming village of Manigod.
This beautifully renovated farm building is set in a secluded location just a few minutes drive from the village, and will give you easy access to the ski stations of La Croix Fry and La Clusaz, as well as the nearby town of Thônes. And at the end of the day, you'll be delighted to return to this superb property, where you can enjoy the steam room, several sunny terraces, or a game of pool with friends.
The small paved road which leads to the chalet is well-maintained and regularly cleared of snow, but in winter you will need to fit your car with snow tyres and good-quality chains. Parking is a few steps above the chalet, to preserve its rural character.
The owners have another chalet nearby, and are available at weekends to answer your questions and in the winter, during bad weather, to transport your luggage to the chalet.
The property ...
Chalet Les Brévins has five bedrooms, five bathrooms and sleeps 12 people (max 10 adults).
The front door opens into the ground floor communal space. You can leave your outdoor clothes in the ski room, which also has a boot warmer, before you head in to the large living area.
Get together around the fire in the cosy seating area or watch a film in the separate TV room. When it's time for dinner, you'll find cooking a pleasure in the fabulous, professional-quality kitchen - there are three ovens, plenty of fridge space, and a temperature-controlled wine store. There's room for everyone to eat together at the large dining table, which makes the most of the views over the valley.
If you'd rather eat outside, there's another dining table on the main terrace, which wraps around two sides of the chalet. There's a terrace at the rear of the property, where you can relax and enjoy the sun, and yet another where you'll find the hot tub.
The first of the five bedrooms is also on this floor - it has a large double bed and a staircase to its own spacious bathroom with a bath and an Italian shower. Incidentally, the view from the bath is breathtaking - it's a great excuse for a long soak!
On the first floor you'll find four more bedrooms, three of which have flat screen televisions. The first, a double, also has a shower, sink and toilet, and access to the sunny balcony. The large master bedroom, which also has access to the balcony, has a shower and separate sink and toilet.
Children will love their room, which sleeps four in a set of bunk beds and two single beds. It shares a large bathroom and separate toilet with the final bedroom, a twin room which overlooks the chalets sheltered hot tub outside.
The mezzanine floor is a great place to get together - there's a music system, a pool table, a brasserie-style seating area, a steam room with light therapy and another shower. There's also a laundry room here.
This spacious chalet has been cleverly designed to offer a series of cosy spaces so that, even if you are part of a big group, there is always somewhere to relax and do your own thing.
About the area ...
Despite its tranquil position, Chalet Les Brévins is just a few minutes drive from the ski station of Croix Fry, which has runs to challenge skiers of all abilities.
A ski bus (free with the Aravis ski pass) links this area to La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, which together offer 220km of perfect pistes as well as cross-country trails and snow parks. There's plenty of parking at the pistes.
Floodlights on some of the Croix Fry pistes mean you can ski until 9pm, and the weekly torchlit descent in La Clusaz is an experience you'll never forget.
Non-skiers won't be bored, with a heated indoor/outdoor swimming pool, ice rink and cinema just a short drive away, as well as sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and horse-drawn sleigh rides. There is also a wealth of flora and fauna to discover, even in the winter, right on your doorstep.
For the ultimate in winter fun, try snow-shoe walking from the front door, paragliding on skis or ski joering - skiing while being towed by a horse!
After an energetic day on the slopes, it's great to come back to the welcoming Chalet Les Brévins, where you can share a meal with friends and family, relax in the jacuzzi or steam room or perhaps chill out with a game of pool.
Children who still have energy to spare will soon discover that the path to the side of the chalet makes a great sledge run!
In the spring and summer, the chalet's idyllic location really comes into its own. South-facing and set amongst forest and fields, it's a paradise for nature lovers who will find a wealth of flora and fauna in the area around the chalet. Children can play safely in the garden, thanks to the traffic-free setting.
There's a huge choice of walks, hikes and bike trails both from the door and a little further afield. Pack a picnic and take the lift up the mountain so you can come back down at your leisure. Adrenalin junkies seeking more of a challenge can try paragliding, canyoning, climbing, mountain-biking or white-water rafting - just some of the activities on offer within a few miles of Manigod.

The OVO Network Review
Chalet Les Brévins is a 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom chalet for 12 (max 10 adults) spread over 2 floors and 220m2 of floor space.
The chalet is in an isolated, peaceful and calm location. The owners manage it themselves and are completely aware of the pros and cons of living in such a location as they have a holiday home close to the chalet which they visit most weekends.
They have plenty of tips and advice about the area.
The owners have achieved their dream of staying in touch with the natural surroundings and the history of the farm building they have restored so beautifully. They have retained the best features of an old farm, adding luxury touches which will give guests an extra-special holiday.
These include the toboggan runs in the garden, the extra beds in the mazot, the professional kitchen, the pool table, the cosy fireplace, the tv area, the hammam and the sheltered outdoor jacuzzi, spacious en-suite bedrooms and lots of room for all of the guests to spread out both inside and out of doors.
The calm and the views from the chalet are just wonderful, the accent is on rejuvenation, contemplation and luxury. The chalet is a perfect base for multigenerational families, groups of friends, and because of the wonderful facilities, a pleasure to visit any time of year, for a taste of traditional mountain living with contemporary luxury facilities and features.

If you are looking to stay in an exceptional place, to breathe in the pure mountain air, immerse yourself in silence, and admire views across a stunning valley to the mountains beyond whilst enjoying the comfort, charm and authenticity of a five-star luxury chalet, then you have found the right place!
Every day of the year you will be treated to ever-changing, breathtaking scenery. Picture yourself and your friends and family snuggled around the fire watching snow fall after a day out skiing or walking in the fresh air, having taken a turn in the jacuzzi or the spa..
the good life indeed! There are just as many memorable treats to experience in the summer time, with walks from the front door, and drinks and dinner on one of the four terraces surrounding the chalet with only the mountains for neighbours.
The chalet is situated so close to nature that it is not at all unusual to see deer grazing in the surrounding fields. Yet it is also close to the village of Manigod where it is possible to buy fresh croissants each morning.
It's 10 minutes from the ski fields of Croix Fry/Merdassier linked to La Clusaz, and in the other direction it's less than a dozen kilometres to Thones, where you will find a variety of restaurants, boutiques, bakeries etc. You're close to everything you need but a long way from hustle and bustle!
We discovered Les Brévins in 2006. We were looking to buy a property in Manigod - Xavier's father was born here and Xavier and his family spent every weekend and holiday in the family chalet in the village whilst he was growing up.
He wanted to return to his roots, back to the mountains, and was keen to find a peaceful haven to escape to after the rigours of the working week.
As soon as we visited the property for the very first time with our own children we knew we had found THE perfect place, our very own taste of paradise. Not only had we stumbled upon a perfect site, but there was a very old farm built around the end of the 17th century, a derelict wooden workshop built in the 1950s and a mazot, a sort of chalet in miniature, once used for storing hay, wood or other farm materials.
First of all we set about renovating the workshop, to turn it into a comfortable place to spend our weekends and holidays. As our children grew older we made the mazot into an independent bedroom.
Finally in 2013 we turned our attention to renovating the old farmhouse, so that we could share this amazing site.
We have honoured as much of the ancient character of the building as possible, and tried to remain respectful of the spaces within this 300-year-old building. All of the structure of the chalet, the basement with its arched cellars, and most of the exterior wood of the property is original.
We have also retained much of the original old wood of the interior walls as possible, and have tried to marry these materials with modern materials of equally good quality wherever necessary.
We love travelling with our children and friends and our travelling experiences have informed our decision to create a property which provides luxury and comfort, where each guest can find his or her own space to enable them to relax, enjoy life and feel good.
We have deliberated over every detail in order to make your stay here an absolute joy, we want you to leave with fantastic memories and the desire to return!
We decided to create two main living spaces, one on each floor. Downstairs the main living space is 80m2 and consists of the lounge with fireplace, a TV room, dining space, and a high-end kitchen equipped with an induction hob, two ovens, a microwave, dishwasher, American-style fridge and temperature-controlled wine cellar..
Then there is a further 40m2 communal area on the first floor with a pool table, bar area with bar stools, and a steam room with light therapy treatments. We've created five bedrooms, each with their own decorative style.
There is the "Deco" room, the country-style room, the chalet-style room, and two rooms for children and teenagers.
Outside you will find an exterior jacuzzi sheltering underneath its own roof space with a view across to Etale, and three other terraces, one with a view across to the Aiguille de Manigod, a large terrace with a dining table for the entire group with views across the valley and finally an evening terrace with views across to La Tournette. We've tried to think of every detail so that you can relax, de-stress and escape the rigours of everyday life...
Finally we would just like to mention just some of the activities it is possible to enjoy locally in the Aravis mountains: skiing, snow shoe walking, climbing trees, mountaineering and rock climbing, marvelling at waterfalls, cycling around Lake Annecy, the list is endless. As we've tried to create an environment that you won't want to stray too far away from, we have also provided snow shoes, sledges, walking itineraries, games, DVDs and books which you are welcome to use.
We look forward to welcoming you soon!
